Scattered across the rural American landscape stand icons of hard work and ingenuity: barns in every shape, size, and variation — the monuments our agricultural ancestors left behind. Descended from the medieval European longhouse and tithe barn, they became the working heart of the early settler's farm, evolving from simple spaces for threshing grain into specialized, multi-level shelters for animals, crops, and equipment.
