Amongst many things, great architecture is a byproduct of great execution—both in the design and craftsmanship. Builders carry the weight of the latter, architects the former, but neither are independent specialists. As the design is placed in the hands of its constructor, the architect’s roll shifts, but our focus remains the same, deliver the product your imagination demands. By nature, custom products demand high skill and uncommon practices. To maintain that quality, we work directly with the contractors; capitalizing on our shared expertise so that the home represents our best work.

Headquartered in Colorado, Limen is led by Founder and Principal Soren Phibbs, whose Rocky Mountain roots inspire designs that thrive in the extreme and diverse environments of the American West. From Arizona’s arid deserts to Colorado’s frigid peaks, no two building envelopes are alike. Thoughtful planning is essential—not just for a structure’s construction, but for its long-term performance, expression and story.

With experience spanning 34+ states, Soren combines deep expertise in evolving construction methods and building science, with a sharp eye for design. His approach is deliberate, curated and cutting-edge—always with the end-user experience in mind. We build with authenticity, telling your story through brick, mortar, timber and thought.

A native of Colorado’s western slope, Soren earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2014. Since then, he has collaborated for-and-with nationally recognized and award-winning design firms, bringing a wealth of experience and a hands-on understanding of luxury design in challenging environments.
