Set between Carbondale and Glenwood Springs, in Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, this custom mountain home unfolds in two acts. Limen proposed a phased delivery — the guest house designed and built first, the primary residence to follow — as a considered answer to the hardship of today’s construction costs.

The approach lets the client spread capital over time, wake to the property years sooner, and test materials, details, and craft at an intimate scale before committing them to the larger house. The guest house becomes both a working residence and a built prototype; when the primary residence begins, it will carry everything the first phase taught — the land already lived in, the builder relationship established, and a design shaped by experience rather than assumption.
